Growing up, many of us heard the story of the man trapped by rising floodwaters.
A police boat comes and urges him to climb aboard. He refuses, saying, “God is watching over me.”
Then a rescue team arrives with another boat. Again, he refuses, trusting only that God will save him.
Eventually, the waters claim him.
When he stands before God and asks, “Why didn’t You save me?”
God answers, “I sent the police. I sent the rescue teams. I sent help and you refused it.”
That story feels painfully relevant today.
God is sending signs daily.
Gunfire attack in Australia.
Swastikas painted on streets in the UK.
College campuses erupting in riots and hatred.
New York electing a mayor that openly supports the Intifada.
Jewish lives are increasingly at risk simply for being Jewish.
These are not isolated incidents. They are warnings.
The first warning was the Holocaust.
And after it, God sent us Israel not just as a country, but as our rescue, our protector, our home. A homeland where Jews are not guests, but masters of their destiny.
Yet so many convince themselves it’s easier to stay where they are because it’s comfortable, because it’s familiar, because of money.
But that is the biggest yetzer hara. Believing that money or comfort is more important than safety, community, and our future is exactly what can hold us back.
Don’t you see it?
God has sent messengers again and again.
And history has shown what happens when we ignore them.
Israel is not just a place to live.
It is a place to belong.
A place where our future is in our own hands.
We are stronger together.
It’s time to come home.
